[Listicle] 4 Reasons Why We Need POOKA Now More Than Ever!
The biggest baddie of them all, Pooka!
I’m not going to lie. As much as everything in life has prepared me for what’s going on in the world (coronavirus, impending recession, possible unemployment, etc.), there are brief moments that I’ve found myself staring into the void. However, one of the few things that have been able to pull me out is knowing that we’re finally going to see the beloved, fluffy McFlufferson itself, POOKA, once again on Hulu in another Into The Dark installment. In case anyone is not aware of this yet, I am minutely in love with POOKA. And, as many of us have seen over the past year on social media, the thiccc adorably disarming creature has become a fan-favorite.

So, without further ado, I’m just going to dive right into the top 4 reasons why I think we need this big baddie more than ever before!

1. POOKA SHOWS US IT’S RELATABLE TO BE OVERWHELMED AND EMOTIONAL UNDER PRESSURE

As we saw in its debut appearance in Into The Dark‘s POOKA!, the lovably naughty character is unpredictable. Part of that is we never know what might trigger the sudden change in behavior. In all honesty, that type of behavioral change has never felt more relevant until now as there are many stressors in our lives hitting us from all sides. While it isn’t exactly a good thing to lash out or become violent in the face of stress or triggers, the POOKA does show us that it is a relatable response. This can help viewers and fans of the thiccc creature to feel less alone while reconciling with their own emotions and stress.

2. POOKA REMINDS US TO EAT

Hear me out. When the POOKA is not switching from naughty to nice, there’s one fact of life that it really focuses on. And that’s – coughs – tacos. And, through constant iteration all across the POOKA‘s Twitter, you would be hardpressed not to be reminded of the existence of tacos. And, I don’t know about you but, when I am reminded of the existence of tacos, I immediately start to get the grumblies in my tummy. How is this important? Well, in times of great stress and constant negative developments like, for example, everything that’s taken place this year so far, it’s a standard response to start neglecting yourself. One such way is to postpone eating. However, POOKA is here to remind you of the deliciousness of food, even if the thiccc baddy has to throw it – quite literally – in your face like above.

3. POOKA SUPPORTS ITS COMMUNITY THROUGH THICK AND THIN (EVEN IF IT MEANS TWERKING)

It has never been more essential to support one’s community, especially when there are things to celebrate in the darkest of times. While POOKA can get a little impatient in its support, as seen by the leaked song above from the February Into The Dark installment My Valentine, the fuzzy taco-loving bugger will do anything to make sure that their buddies feel that love. And, this same energy has been passed on from POOKA to its fans over the past year through various bouts of advice freely dished out on the Twitter page and more.

4. POOKA PURSUES ITS DREAMS TO THE BITTER END

It can be easy right now to just throw in the towel and give up but, if there’s anything that I’ve learned from the POOKA, it’s to never give up. Whether it’s campaigning for us to save the bees, unlock our inner diva bitch-selves, or relentlessly pursuing both Blumhouse and Hulu in order for them to go ahead and greenlight a sequel, we have all witnessed over the past year or so how inspiring and impactful it is to just…keep…going. If POOKA can do it, so can we!

Our most beloved character will be returning to the horror anthology series, Into The Dark, in POOKA LIVES!, on April 3, 2020, via Hulu. To learn more about why we are so obsessed with this character, check out our exclusive interview with it HERE. And, maybe if we’re lucky, Hulu will drop a trailer soon. Because trailers are very much needed…
