[News] Mark Hamill Brings Chucky to Life in CHILD’S PLAY

Orion Pictures has revealed a new clip for CHILD’S PLAY, a re-imagining of the original ’80s horror film that spawned an unforgettable franchise. In the clip, we get to hear Mark Hamill voice the character of Chucky for the first time and it is completely terrifying. If you weren’t afraid of his voice before, you will be now.

A contemporary re-imagining of the 1980s classic, the synopsis of CHILD’S PLAY is as follows. After moving to a new city, young Andy Barclay receives a special present from his mother — a seemingly innocent Buddi doll that becomes his best friend. When the doll suddenly takes on a life of its own, Andy unites with other neighborhood children to stop the sinister toy from wreaking bloody havoc.

The film stars Aubrey Plaza (“Legion”, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), Brian Tyree-Henry (Widows, Hotel Artemis), Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle, Benji), and Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise, “Knightfall”) as the voice of Chucky

Rising filmmaker Lars Klevberg (Polaroid, The Wall) directs from a script by Tyler Burton Smith (Sleeping Dogs, “Quantum Break” video games) based on the original motion picture. David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith produce under their KatzSmith Productions banner (IT). Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson executive produced the project.

CHILD’S PLAY, the 1988 film, grossed over $44 million worldwide on a $9 million budget and spawned one of the most recognizable and successful horror characters of all time with its psychotic killer doll, Chucky.

CHILD’S PLAY will arrive in theaters on June 21, 2019. Be prepared to get scared! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m probably going to be dragged to this kicking and screaming. Mark Hamill as a doll that comes to life and starts attacking people is way too much for me to handle.
