Vertical Entertainment has revealed the first official trailer for their upcoming thriller, JACOB’S LADDER. The film will be released in theaters and will be available On Demand on August 23, 2019.

After the death of his brother in Afghanistan, Jacob Singer is finally getting his life back together. He has a beautiful wife, a new born child and a successful career as surgeon in a VA hospital. When a stranger approaches him and tells him that his brother is actually alive and living in an underground shelter with other homeless vets, Jacob’s life starts to unravel. He begins hallucinating, believes he is being followed by violent attackers and becomes paranoid about the truth of what really happened to his brother. When he discovers that his brother is alive and addicted to an experimental drug, he uncovers a secret he never could have been prepared for.

JACOB’S LADDER stars Michael Ealy (The Intruder), Jesse Williams (The Butler, The Cabin in the Woods), Nicole Beharie (42, “Sleepy Hollow”), and Karla Souza (“How to Get Away with Murder”, Don’t Blame the Kid).

The film is directed by David M. Rosenthal (How It Ends, A Single Shot) and written by Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary, Grudge) and Sarah Thorpe.

JACOBS’S LADDER is produced by Will Packer (Girls Trip, Night School), Mickey Liddell (The Grey, Jackie), Michael J. Gaeta (Fright Night, Transit), Alison R. Rosenzweig (Windtalkers, Fright Night 2: New Blood), Pete Shilaimon (Risen, Forever My Girl), and Jennifer Monroe (Dog Days, The Collector).
