[News] Grunge Shop Tavern Returns This March

It’s better to burn out than to fade away! Join Sampson Creative Enterprises and Brack Shop Tavern Monday, March 11th, for one last evening in the Pacific Northwest. Successfully transporting Los Angelenos to another place and time in previous installations, the Grunge Shop Tavern pop-up bar returns to Downtown LA, this time in the year 1997.

Following the successful ’91 and ’94 editions, Grunge Shop Tavern will continue to reach all of your senses. The faint smell of incense will accompany a soundtrack that defined the grunge movement. Bands like Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden will narrate the evening. A special pop-up drink menu includes our 90’s favorites, such as the Sleepless in Seattle and the White Washingtonian. And of course, cans of Olympia beer. Appealing to your tastebuds, a special pop-up food menu curated by Chef Christina Quinn will be the culinary highlight of the evening. Focusing on Pacific Northwest regional favorites, Quinn’s menu will feature items such as wild mushroom tacos and salmon sliders.

Brack Shop Tavern undergoes a memorable transformation to embody a Pacific Northwest grunge bar. Tie dye and batik tapestries shield flat screens, regional neons glow in the darkness, and a palatable Big Foot theme creates memorable photo opportunities. The only TV in use features a one-of-a-kind compilation of current events and local news from 1997. Grunge Shop’s local band, Gutter Bucket, will be in attendance to say goodbye to the time period that gave birth to the greatest music movement of all time.

We invite you to a night of killer tunes, cold beers, and good friends on Monday, March 11th at 7pm. 21+. $5 advance or at the door. 5% of proceeds goes to benefit the volunteer program, LA Works.

Brack Shop Tavern is located at 525 W 7th St., Los Angeles, CA. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
