Cranked Up Films, the genre film arm of Good Deed Entertainment, has acquired worldwide rights to the thriller film HALF SISTERS, directed and produced by Devin Fei-Fan Tau. Starring Kristy Dawn Dinsmore (“Vikings”) and Sydney Winbush (Shrill); the film is set for an April 2023 theatrical release, followed by a wide run on demand in July.

HALF SISTERS centers on two estranged half-sisters – one white, one mixed race – reuniting after the death of their grandmother, at a remote family cabin in the midst of a raging storm. Learning that a $1M inheritance is at stake, the two women become reluctant allies, facing down multiple threats — both internal and external.

Devin Fei-Fan Tau says, “The movie shines a spotlight on the complexity of family relationships, racism and performative allyship wrapped around a horror-thriller! I’m super excited that Cranked Up Films is amplifying these important stories.”

Good Deed Entertainment/Cranked Up’s EVP of Acquisitions Erik Donley negotiated the deal with Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films.

Andy Myers, EVP of Distribution and Production for Good Deed Entertainment/Cranked Up, says, “This resonant, non-stop thriller is a unique addition to the Cranked Up family, and we are delighted to be able to bring it to audiences on the big screen.”

Half Sisters is directed by Tau, written by J. Alexander Johnson and Joe Leone, and is produced by Matt Corrado, and Tau, and executive produced by Brian M. Riney.
