[News] Casting Updates on Latest SAW Installment

Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, Joshua Okamoto, and Octavio Hinojosa have joined the cast of Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ next installment of the billion-dollar SAW franchise, opposite Tobin Bell, who returns to his iconic role as John Kramer. They also join Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, and Michael Beach, as previously announced.

The new film, now in production in Mexico City, is slated for release on October 27, 2023.

Franchise stalwart Kevin Greutert, who directed the highly regarded Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, and edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw, is directing the project.

The return of Bell to the franchise furthers Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ goal of a film that captures everything SAW fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.

Renata Vaca is an on the rise Mexican actress and singer that recently wrapped starring in the new Apple TV+ series “Midnight Family,” which is produced by Pablo Larrain and is expected to premiere in the Spring of 2023. In addition, Renata can currently be seen starring in the Netflix drama series “Pedal to Medal.” She is represented by manager Nils Larsen at Integral Artists and attorney Matt Rosen at Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.

Hernandez currently stars on the second season of the Mexican telenovela “Crown of Tears.” Her recent feature film work includes Solo Respira. She is represented by AFA Prime Talent Media. Hernandez preferred photo:

Okamoto is set to appear in the upcoming Mexican series “VGLY” and recently appeared in the series “Control-Z” and the feature Sex, Shame and Tears 2. He is represented by Vision Entertainment.

Hinojosa most recently starred on the television series “How to Survive Being Single” and the film Come Play With Me; he is set to star in in the series “Mala Fortuna.” He is repped by Lumina Management.
