Netflix has unveiled the official poster for the upcoming Guillermo del Toro’s PINOCCHIO, which arrives in select theaters this November, and will arrive on Netflix on December 9, 2022.
In conjunction with Netflix’s poster debut, they have released a custom Twitter emoji with these 3 hashtags: #pinocchiomovie, #GuillermodelToro, #animationisfilm.
Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro reinvents Carlo Collodi’s classic tale of the wooden marionette who is magically brought to life in order to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto. This whimsical, stop-motion film directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson follows the mischievous and disobedient adventures of Pinocchio in his pursuit of a place in the world.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth) and Mark Gustafson, the film features an all-star voice cast with Ewan McGregor as Cricket, David Bradley (Harry Potter franchise, “Game of Thrones”) as Geppetto, and introducing Gregory Mann as Pinocchio.
Other cast includes Finn Wolfhard (The Turning), Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett , John Turturro (The Batman), Ron Perlman (Nightmare Alley), Tim Blake Nelson (“Watchmen“), Burn Gorman (Watcher), with Academy Award® winner Christoph Waltz and Academy Award® winner Tilda Swinton.
Del Toro and Patrick McHale wrote the script. The song lyrics are by del Toro and Katz, with music by Academy Award® winner Alexandre Desplat who will also write the score. Gris Grimly created the original design for the PINOCCHIO character. The film’s puppets are being built by Mackinnon and Saunders (Corpse Bride).
