First reported via Deadline, Netflix’s official Twitter Account confirmed that Christina Ricci is joining the cast of the new Wednesday Addams series. It has yet to be confirmed which new and exciting character she is going to play, but this casting will had all Addams Family fans hyped for sure.

Although she has many memorable roles, Christina Ricci is much beloved for her betrayal of Wednesday Addams in the 90s hit family films, The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. Her appearance on the new WEDNESDAY series reunites her again with Tim Burton, having worked with him on Sleepy Hollow.

Previously announced cast includes lead Jenna Ortega  (Scream, The Fallout) who plays “Wednesday,” in the character’s first young-adult television series; Luis Guzmán (Boogie Nights, Traffic, Carlito’s Way) who will guest star as “Gomez Addams,” and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Chicago, A Little Night Music) guest-starring as Morticia Addams.

The character has been portrayed in television, film, video games and even musicals, but Wednesday has always been part of The Addams Family ensemble until now — in her first young adult television series.

The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

The series is being directed and executive produced by Tim Burton (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands). Al Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville, Into the Badlands) are both showrunners and executive producers on the WEDNESDAY series.

Also executive producing is Andrew Mittman for 1.21 (The Addams Family, Alphas), Kevin Miserocchi (Tee and Charles Addams Foundation), Kayla Alpert (Code Black, Up All Night), Jonathan Glickman for Glickmania (RESPECT, Addams Family 2), Steve Stark (Medium, The Event), and Gail Berman (The Addams Family, Alphas).
