Based on a true story, THE STAIRCASE explores the life of Michael Peterson, his sprawling North Carolina family, and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson.
Starring alongside Colin Firth (The Secret Garden, Pride & Prejudice) and Toni Collette (Knives Out, Nightmare Alley) are Michael Stuhlbarg (“Boardwalk Empire,” A Serious Man), Juliette Binoche (Chocolat, The English Patient), Dane DeHaan (Kill Your Darlings, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets) and Olivia DeJonge (Better Watch Out, “Will”).
The series also stars Rosemarie DeWitt (The Watch, Rachel Getting Married), Tim Guinee (Vampires, “Hell on Wheels”), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Go North, Midnight Sun), Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones,” X-Men: Apocalypse), Vincent Vermignon (“Luther,” Maybe Another Time), Odessa Young (Assassination Nation, The Professor) and Parker Posey (“Lost in Space,” You Got Mail).
The limited series is written and executive produced by showrunners Antonio Campos (The Devil All The Time, Christine) and Maggie Cohn (“American Crime Story”). Campos also directs six of the eight episodes.
The limited series is co-produced by Annapurna Television.
