Screen Gems has unveiled the official first look at the upcoming RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, the latest live-action adaptation of the beloved videogame franchise. Make sure you check out the images below and let us know what you think so far. Personally, I’m hyped by the inclusion of Lisa Trevor.
Returning to the origins of the massively popular Resident Evil franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
The film stars Kaya Scodelario (Crawl, The Maze Runner franchise), Hannah John-Kamen (“Killjoys”, Ant-Man and the Wasp), Robbie Amell (The DUFF, The Babysitter: Killer Queen), Tom Hopper (“The Umbrella Academy“, “Game of Thrones”), Avan Jogia (“Victorious”, Now Apocalypse), with Donal Logue (Blade, “Gotham”) and Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers, Captain America: The First Avenger).
RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY is written and directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night). It is produced by Robert Kulzer (Wrong Turn, Resident Evil: Extinction), James Harris (The Informer, I Am Not A Serial Killer), and Hartley Gorenstein (Cell 213, “The Boys”).
The film is executive produced by Martin Moszkowicz, Victor Hadida, Jeremy Bolt, and Paul W.S. Anderson.
RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY will be available exclusively in movie theaters on November 24, 2021. Stay tuned for a trailer soon!
