Devoted family man Ray Cooper, vows justice against the pharmaceutical company responsible for pulling a potentially life saving drug from the market just before his wife (Adria Arjona) dies from cancer. But when his search for the truth leads to a deadly encounter that puts Ray and his daughter Rachel (Isabela Merced) in harm’s way, Ray’s mission turns into a quest for vengeance in order to protect the only family he has left.
SWEET GIRL stars Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”, Aquaman), Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Sicario: Day of the Soldado), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Murder on the Orient Express, Widows), Adria Arjona (“Emerald City”, “Good Omens”), Raza Jaffrey (“Lost in Space”, The Rhythm Section), Justin Bartha (The Hangover, National Treasure), Lex Scott Davis (The First Purge, Superfly), Michael Raymond-James (“True Blood”, “Once Upon a Time”) and Amy Brenneman (“Tell Me Your Secrets”, “Judging Amy”).
The film is directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza (Conan the Barbarian, Road to Paloma), with a screenplay written by Gregg Hurwitz (The Book of Henry, “V”) and Philip Eisner (Event Horizon, “Firestarter: Rekindled”). The film is produced by Mendoza, Momoa, Jeff Fierson (Rampage, “Daybreak”), and Brad Peyton.
SWEET GIRL will be released exclusively on Netflix on August 20, 2021.
