In anticipation of the release of THE GREEN KNIGHT, A24 is releasing a mini-documentary on THE GREEN KNIGHT titled: “Legends Never Die: An Oral History of ‘Sir Gawain and The Green Knight’”, narrated by Ralph Ineson.

In the documentary, we get a full breakdown of the historical relevance of the classic epic tale, where we will learn that there was only one recorded copy of the story written down, that J.R. Tolkien got involved in translating the text so that all could read it, and much more.

We also get a breakdown of who is playing which fantastical character in the film, which will provide further clarification for anyone who was overwhelmed by the broad cast of characters featured in trailers prior.

Based on the timeless Arthurian legend, THE GREEN KNIGHT tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.
