Based on the timeless Arthurian legend, THE GREEN KNIGHT tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.

The film stars Dev Patel (Hotel Mumbai, The Man Who Knew Infinity), Alicia Vikander (The Light Between Oceans, “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance“), Joel Edgerton (The King, Red Sparrow), Sarita Choudhury (A Hologram for the King, “Homeland”), Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The King), Kate Dickie (“Game of Thrones”, The VVitch, Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), and Ralph Ineson. (“Game of Thrones”, The VVitch).

The film is written and directed by David Lowery (The Old Man & The Gun, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints). The film is produced by Tim Headington (The Tourist, The Rum Diary), Toby Halbrooks (Pete’s Dragon, Never Goin’ Back), James M. Johnston (Miss Juneteenth, A Ghost Story), and Theresa Steele Page (Strawberry Mansion, Everything Everywhere All At Once).
