Netflix announced the release date and a teaser trailer for their thrilling new vampire film, BLOOD RED SKY, yesterday at Netflix Geeked‘s first-ever Geeked Week, a virtual fan-facing event revealing first looks and celebrating all things genre entertainment at Netflix. A woman with a mysterious illness is forced into action when a group of terrorists attempt to hijack a transatlantic overnight flight. In order to protect her son she will have to reveal a dark secret, and unleash the vampire within that she fought to hide.

BLOOD RED SKY stars Peri Baumeister (“The Last Kingdom”, Little Miss Doolittle), Kais Setti (“Dogs of Berlin”, ), Alexander Scheer (The Aftermath, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), Dominic Purcell (“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”, “Prison Break”), and Graham McTavish (“Outlander”, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey).

The film is directed by Peter Thorwarth (Bang Boom Bang, Not My Day), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Stefan Holtz (Kiss Me Kismet, “Tatort”). The film is produced by Christian Becker (“At Home in the Mountains”, The Placebo Effect).

BLOOD RED SKY will be released exclusively on Netflix on July 23, 2021.
