TIME GOES FAST! Especially for SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2!

This year, to celebrate the anniversary of the record-setting opening of Sonic the Hedgehog, Paramount Pictures has got a groundbreaking, thought-provoking, extremely obvious announcement.

– cough cough cough – It’s the official title of the Sonic Sequel revealed! Any guesses? Anyone? You are absolutely right if you thought it was SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2! Check out the announcement below and let us know your thoughts!

The studio also revealed the release date for the upcoming sequel, which will be dropped on April 8, 2022. So, plenty of time for us to get safe and prepared for when we – hopefully – go back into theaters again.

Sonic The Hedgehog was a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film followed the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigated the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom joined forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also starred Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

The film starred James Marsden (“Westworld”, The Best of Me), Ben Schwartz (“Ducktales”, “House of Lies”), Tika Sumpter (Nobody’s Fool, Southside with You), Natasha Rothwell (Limited Partners, “Insecure”), Neal McDonough (“Arrow”, “Desperate Housewives”), Adam Pally (“Happy Endings”, “The Mindy Project”), and Jim Carrey (“Kidding”, Dark Crimes).

Paramount Pictures Corporation (PPC), a major global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, is a unit of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA), home to premier global media brands that create compelling television programs, motion pictures, short-form content, apps, games, consumer products, social media experiences, and other entertainment content for audiences in more than 180 countries.
