When it was first announced that there would be a continuous to the 1996 cult-classic film, The Craft, most weren’t convinced that it would have the same impact that it’s predecessor did. But to the surprise of many, THE CRAFT: LEGACY has seemed to resonate with today’s generation, and rightfully so. It’s vibrant and colorful presentation is a stark contrast to the original but it still tackles important societal issues (toxic masculinity and consent) while also respecting the traditions of witchcraft, and making sure to empower all women.
For the release of THE CRAFT: LEGACY, Nightmarish Conjurings’ Shannon McGrew had the immense pleasure of speaking Writer/Director Zoe Lister-Jones who discussed everything from how the original film impacted her, the importance of depicting authentic witchcraft, and what she hopes people take away from the film.
THE CRAFT: LEGACY, written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones, stars Cailee Spaeny (Bad Times at the El Royale, On the Basis of Sex), Gideon Adlon (The Society, Blockers, The Mustang), Lovie Simone (Selah & The Spades, Greenleaf), Zoey Luna (Pose, Boundless), and you can read our interview with the new coven here, along with Nicholas Galitzine, Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny.
