RLJE Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, along with Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, will release the horror film THE DARK AND THE WICKED on December 15, 2020, on DVD and Blu-ray.

In THE DARK AND THE WICKED, on a secluded farm, a man is bedridden and fighting through his final breaths while his wife slowly succumbs to overwhelming grief. Siblings Louise (Marin Ireland) and Michael (Michael Abbott Jr.) return home to help, but it doesn’t take long for them to see that something’s wrong with mom—something more than her heavy sorrow. Gradually, they begin to suffer a darkness similar to their mother’s, marked by waking nightmares and a growing sense that an evil entity is taking over their family.

THE DARK AND THE WICKED stars Marin Ireland (“The Umbrella Academy,” Hell or High Water), Michael Abbott Jr. (Loving, Mud), and Xander Berkeley (“The Walking Dead“).

The film is written and directed by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers, The Monster). Adrienne Biddle and Bertino are producing for Unbroken Pictures with Sonny Mallhi (Anguish, The Strangers), and Kevin Matusow for The Traveling Picture Show Company (Josie, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, A Walk Among the Tombstones).

Executive Producers are Mike Scannell, TPSC’s Carissa Buffel and Steven Chester Prince, Inwood Road Films’ John Short and James Short (Plus One, Confessional), Brian Dalton, and Milan Chakraborty (My Friend Dahmer, Assassination Nation).

RLJE Films will release the film on DVD for an SRP of $27.97 and on Blu-ray for an SRP of $28.96. To learn more about the film, check out our review.
