Today, Walt Disney Animation Studios unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming  RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON, featuring Kelly Marie Tran as the voice of Raya, a lone warrior whose mission is to track down the legendary last dragon in a bid to save Kumandra and unite its lands. Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when sinister monsters known as the Druun threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the last dragon in order to finally stop the Druun for good. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than dragon magic to save the world—it’s going to take trust as well.

RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON features the voices of Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, “Sorry For Your Loss”), who voices Raya, and Awkwafina (“The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance“, The Farewell) as the voice of the dragon, Sisu.

Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Winnie the Pooh) and Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting, “Legion”) are directing, with Paul Briggs (The Princess and the Frog, Frozen Fever) and John Ripa (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Treasure Planet) co-directing. Osnat Shurer (Moana, Jack-Jack Attack) and Peter Del Vecho (Frozen 2, Hercules) are the producers, and Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim (Crazy Rich Asians) are writers on the project.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON opens in U.S. theaters on March 12, 2021.
