HBO revealed brand new key art and revealed the release date of Season two of HIS DARK MATERIALS. The brand new season will premiere on HBO on November 16, 2020.
In the second season of HIS DARK MATERIALS, Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) has opened a bridge to a new world, and, distraught over the death of her best friend, Lyra (Dafne Keen) follows Asriel into the unknown. In a strange and mysterious abandoned city she meets Will (Amir Wilson), a boy from our world who is also running from a troubled past. Lyra and Will learn their destinies are tied to reuniting Will with his father but find their path is constantly thwarted as a war begins to brew around them. Meanwhile, Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson) searches for Lyra, determined to bring her home by any means necessary.
Season two series regulars include Dafne Keen (Logan, “Hanna”), Ruth Wilson (“The Affair”, The Little Stranger), Amir Wilson (The Secret Garden, “The Letter for the King”), Ariyon Bakare (Life, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Andrew Scott (“Fleabag”, 1917), Will Keen (“Wolf Hall”, “The Muskateers”), Ruta Gedmintas (“The Strain”, “The Borgias”) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns, Hamilton). Joining the cast this season are Terence Stamp (The Collector, “The Hunger”), Jade Anouka (“Trauma”, “Turn Up Charlie”), and Simone Kirby (The Hole in the Ground, Notes on Blindness).
HIS DARK MATERIALS is produced by Bad Wolf in association with New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO.
