Momentum Pictures has revealed the official trailer for their upcoming comedic thriller, BLACK BEAR, which you can check out below.

At a remote lake house, a filmmaker named Allison (Aubrey Plaza) arrives to play house guest to a troubled couple (Christopher Abbott and Sarah Gadon), who have eschewed their life in the city after inheriting a family retreat. Battling writer’s block, Allison sparks a calculated game of desire and jealousy in pursuit of a new work that blurs the boundaries of autobiography and invention. BLACK BEAR explores the complex nature of relationships, gender dynamics, and the erratic nature of love as it traces the conflict between our lust and our longing for internal harmony.

BLACK BEAR stars Aubrey Plaza (“Legion”, Child’s Play), Christopher Abbott (It Comes At Night, “The Sinner”), and Sarah Gadon (Vampires vs. The Bronx, “Alias Grace”).

The film is written and directed by Lawrence Michael Levine (Gabi on the Roof in July, Wild Canaries). The film is produced by Levine, Plaza, Jonny Blitstein (Let Them Chirp Awhile, The Surrogate),  Julie Christeas (Blood Stripe, Wildlike), Richard J Bosner (Mapplethorpe, The Boat Builder), Marina Grasic (New York, I Love You, In The Blood), Jai Khanna (Four Good Days, The Black Prince), and Sophia Takal (Black Christmas, Into The Dark’s New Year, New You).

BLACK BEAR will be released on Friday, December 4, 2020.

Momentum Pictures is a film distributor owned by Entertainment One, a subsidiary of Hasbro. Prior to 2013, it was a brand of Canadian distributor Alliance Films used for its releases in the United Kingdom, and was one of the leading independent distributors in the UK and Ireland.
