From Executive Producer Jason Katims, the Netflix series AWAY is a thrilling, emotional drama on an epic scale that celebrates the incredible advancements humans can achieve and the personal sacrifices they must make along the way.

As American astronaut Emma Green (Hilary Swank) prepares to lead an international crew on the first mission to Mars, she must reconcile her decision to leave behind her husband (Josh Charles) and teenage daughter (Talitha Bateman) when they need her the most. As the crew’s journey into space intensifies, their personal dynamics and the effects of being away from their loved ones back on Earth become increasingly complex. AWAY shows that sometimes to reach for the stars, we must leave home behind.

The series stars Hilary Swank (The Hunt, Million Dollar Baby) as Emma Green, Josh Charles (“The Good Wife”, Dead Poets Society) as Matt Logan, Talitha Bateman (Geostorm, Annabelle: Creation) as Alexis “Lex” Logan, Mark Ivanir (The Good Sheperd, Schinder’s List) as Misha Popov, Ato Essandoh (“Altered Carbon”, Jason Bourne) as Dr. Kwesi Weisberg-Abban, Ray Panthaki (“Gangs of London”, One Crazy Thing) as Ram Arya, Vivian Wu (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, The Last Emperor) as Lu Wang, and Monique Curnen (Contagion, “Taken”) as Melissa Ramirez.

Created by Andrew Hinderaker (“Penny Dreadful”, “Pure Genius”), the series is executive produced by showrunner Jessica Goldberg (“The Path”, Alex of Venice), Jason Katims (“Friday Night Lights”, “About a Boy”), Matt Reeves (“Tales From The Loop“, “The Passage”), Hinderaker, Edward Zwick (Legends of the Fall, Glory), Swank, Adam Kassan (Black Mass, End of Watch), and Jeni Mulein.

The drama series, AWAY, will premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 4, 2020.
