A24’s SAINT MAUD is set to be the first horror movie back in theaters when it opens nationwide on July 17, 2020. The unholy possession thriller is the first feature from writer/director Rose Glass — a stunning horror debut in the vein of Hereditary and The Witch that critics are hailing “a mesmerizing horror masterpiece” and “the next great horror film”!
The debut film from writer-director Rose Glass, SAINT MAUD is a chilling and boldly original vision of faith, madness, and salvation in a fallen world. Maud, a newly devout hospice nurse, becomes obsessed with saving her dying patient’s soul — but sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.
The film stars Morfydd Clark (Crawl, Love & Friendship), Jennifer Ehle (Zero Dark Thirty, The King’s Speech), Lily Frazer (“Sex Education”, “Ladhood”), Lily Knight (The Purge: Anarchy, Secretary), Marcus Hutton (Cycle, I’m Here), Turlough Convery (Doing Money, “Sanditon”), and Rosie Sansom (Love Bite, “The Rook”).
The film was written and directed by Rose Glass (Room 55, The Silken Strand) in what serves to be her debut film.
