Samuel Goldwyn Films has released a brand new trailer for their recently acquired film, JUDY & PUNCH. Make sure you check it out below and let us know what you think.

In the anarchic town of Seaside, nowhere near the sea, puppeteers Judy and Punch are trying to resurrect their marionette show. The show is a hit due to Judy’s superior puppeteering, but Punch’s driving ambition and penchant for whisky lead to an inevitable tragedy that Judy must avenge.

In a visceral and dynamic live-action reinterpretation of the famous 16th-century puppet show, writer-director Mirrah Foulkes turns the traditional story of Punch and Judy on its head and brings to life a fierce, darkly comic and epic female-driven revenge story.

The film stars Mia Wasikowska (Piercing, Crimson Peak), Damon Herriman (“Mr Inbetween”, “Secret City”), Terry Norris (Looking for Grace, Paper Planes), Gillian Jones (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Rover), Tom Budge (Gallipoli, Last Train to Feo), Benedict Hardie (Upgrade, Nekrotronic), and Lucy Velik (“Mr & Mrs Murder”, “The Ex-PM”).

The film is written and directed by Mirrah Foulkes (“Harrow”, Animal Kingdom). It is produced by Michele Bennett (The Magician, The Mule), Nash Edgerton (Gringo, The Gift), and Danny Gabai (Lords of Chaos, The Report). Executive producers on the film Natalie Farrey (Where the Wild Things Are, Her), Eddy Moretti (The Mountain, Waves of Grace), Lucy Punch (“Motherland”, “A Series of Unfortunate Events”), Tom Punch (“Beerland”, A-Z of Music), and Jennifer Semler (The Favourite, The Forest).

JUDY & PUNCH will be released in theaters in the United States on April 24, 2020. At this time, there is no date set for a VOD release.
