Leap year gives us one extra day in February to binge the all-new Amazon Original series “Hunters”, and rom-coms such as Bridget Jones’s Diary and Magic Mike for a Galentine’s Day night in.

Here’s what’s new on Amazon Prime Video in February:

New Amazon Originals in February

Hunters“, created by David Weil, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video. Executive produced by Academy Award-winner Jordan Peele and led by legendary Academy Award-winner Al Pacino, “Hunters” follows a diverse band of Nazi hunters living in 1977 New York City. The Hunters, as they’re known, have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the United States. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans. The series also stars Logan Lerman, Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker and Lena Olin. Directed by Alma Har’el and written by Shia LaBeouf, Honey Boy (2019) traces the life of child actor Otis Lort as he rises from early success to a self-destructive Hollywood star. Based on LaBeouf’s own life, Honey Boy weaves together two timelines as he comes to terms with his ex-rodeo clown father, played by LaBeouf, in a role inspired by his own dad. Available in UHD and HDR. Streaming February 7

And the Golden Globe Goes to…

Awkwafina for Best Actress – Musical or Comedy in The Farewell (2019). Based on director Lulu Wang’s real life, this heartfelt story follows a family who learns their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decides not to tell her, but instead returns to China under the guise of a fake wedding to stealthily say goodbye to their beloved matriarch. Streaming February 12

Movies to Watch on Galentine’s Day

Based on a reinterpretation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) follows 32-year-old Bridget, played by Renée Zellweger, who decides it’s time to take control of her life — and start keeping a diary. With a taste for adventure, and an opinion on every subject, she’s turning the page on a whole new life. Streaming February 1

Before it became a Las Vegas live show it all started with the movie. Starring Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey, Magic Mike (2012) tells the story of a hot headliner at an all-male revue named Mike who takes on a protégé to teach him the fine arts of dancing and picking up women. Streaming February 1

In A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019), Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. From writer-director Taika Waititi, Jojo Rabbit (2019) follows a lonely German boy who must confront his own fanaticism when he finds a Jewish girl hiding in his attic in this satirical comedy. Available for purchase February 4 and available for rent February 18

Directed by Roland Emmerich and based on real-life events, Midway (2019) centers on the Battle of Midway, a clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
