Holy Charitable Causes, Batman! Returning in February, Scripts Gone Wild (aka “LA’s Best Kept Secret”) invades El Cid on Sunset with their reading of the 1966 classic, BATMAN, that starred the late Adam West. Headlined by the voice of Spongebob SquarePants himself, Tom Kenny, and featuring “The Simpsons” writer/producer Dana Gould, “Family Guy” voice actor Ralph Garman, and actor Malcolm Barrett – Scripts Gone Wild has unveiled the final round of casting for the kick-off to its 2020 season of reads.

Rounding out the cast for BATMAN ’66 are:

Brian Howe – Celebrated character actor known for series like Vice Principals, Chicago Fire, Justified; and feature films like The Pursuit of Happyness and The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra

Rico E. Anderson – Actor known for his recent work on the Apple+ series, “Truth Be Told”, and in the feature film, Get Gone; series work includes “Modern Family” and “Weeds”

Kirk Thatcher – Man of many talents, known for his writing on the series, “Dinosaurs”, and for producing “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell

Liane Dietz – Venerable producer and production manager for Disney, best known for her work on Hercules and Dinosaur, in addition to Saving Mr. Banks and Home on the Range

Clay Keller – Co-host of the popular Screen Drafts podcast and the monthly Vidiots Trivia at the Ace Hotel; actor is best known for his work in the horror film Contracted: Phase II

Also recently announced was the charity for this reading, the fantastic organization BORDER ANGELS. Founded in 1986, Border Angels promotes a culture of love through advocacy and education, by creating a social consciousness and engaging in direct action to defend the rights of migrants and refugees. “We can’t think of a better charity for this read,” said Scripts Gone Wild founder Billy Ray Brewton. “Right now, there is so much work that needs to be done to protect the vulnerable at our borders – so if we can spend a night having fun and drinking to help do that, it feels sort of like the very least we can do.”

Scripts Gone Wild is also pleased to welcome a new alcohol sponsor to the mix for the 2020 season, the local L.A. brewery GOLDEN ROAD BREWING, who will be supplying the readers with just enough intoxication to perform adequately. Returning sponsors include: MULHOLLAND DISTILLING, a local craft spirits brand located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles; Q MIXERS, the premium spirits mixer served everywhere people love great things; POMP & WHIMSY, an exotic and delicious gin liqueur; EL CID ON SUNSET; and the media sponsor, as always, is NIGHTMARISH CONJURINGS.

Founded in 2016 at the Chattanooga Film Festival, Scripts Gone Wild is a monthly script reading series where a group of suspecting celebs, filmmakers, and influencers are taken – a movie script and alcohol put in their hands – and chaos ensues! It’s a drinking game – any time a reader flubs a line, misses their cue – THEY DRINK! We even let the audience get in on the action by choosing ‘trigger words’ that only increase the likelihood of the evening getting, well…’wild’. Previous readers have included: Joel McHale (“Community”), Perez Hilton, Tracie Thoms (“Cold Case”), Diedrich Bader (“The Drew Carey Show”), and Ross Marquand (“The Walking Dead”).

SCRIPTS GONE WILD – BATMAN ‘66 takes place Thursday February 27th at 7:30pm at El Cid on Sunset located at 4212 Sunset Blvd. Tickets are $20 for VIP SEATING and $10 for GENERAL ADMISSION. Proceeds will benefit Border Angels. For more information about Scripts Gone Wild, or to purchase tickets, visit: www.scriptsgonewild.com.
