One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
The film stars Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Blade Runner 2049), Matt Smith (“Doctor Who”, “The Crown”), Adria Arjona (“Good Omens“, 6 Underground), Jared Harris (“Chernobyl”, “Carnival Row“), Al Madrigal (“I’m Dying Up Here”, “About a Boy”), with Tyrese Gibson (Black and Blue, The Fast and Furious franchise).
The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life, Child 44). The story is by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Sazama, Sharpless, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway wrote the screenplay.
MORBIUS is produced by Matt Tolmach, Avi Arad, and Lucas Foster. It is executive produced by Louise Rosner.
The film will be unleashed in theaters on July 31, 2020. Will it take a bite out of the summer blockbuster competition? We will just have to wait to find out.
