Flicks for Fans, a group dedicated to going beyond the norm at the movies, is pleased to present the upcoming Friday the 13th 40th Anniversary Screening and Immersive Experience on Friday March 13 and 14, 2020.
Time to celebrate one of the most notorious horror movies of all time on its 40th Anniversary the right way – on the very date of its namesake. Flicks for Fans, the team behind such grand and notable past events as the Evil Dead Festival and the Lethal Ladies of Horror Film Festival, are proud to present a 40th Anniversary Screening and Immersive Experience of the 1980 Sean S. Cunningham camp slasher classic Friday the 13th ON Friday, March 13th, 2020 at the famed Fine Arts Theater in Los Angeles, CA, paired in a double bill with the equally iconic Sleepaway Camp. Plus the film will also play again on Saturday the 14th this time paired with the 80’s homage outing The Final Girls for a “Ladies Night” themed evening – two different but equally killer nights to choose from.
Friday night festivities – entitled “Camp Crystal Lake Night” – will be hosted by James “Jimmy O” Oster from Joblo.com and ArrowintheHead.com and will feature both “Killer Camp” trailers as well as Cool Camp movie trivia for prizes.
Saturday night’s program – entitled “Ladies Night” (though everyone is welcome!) – will be hosted by Flicks For Fans very own Stacey Lawson and as a special treat for females in the house will have “Lethal Ladies” trailers as well as Dangerous Dames movie trivia for prizes.
As with all former Flicks For Fans outings, this event will feature some seriously unique “beyond the norm” extras included with the price of the ticket. Both nights will have an unforgettable Friday the 13th themed Immersive Experience fans can enjoy featuring the special effects work of make-up effects maven Brittany Fontaine who herself is a graduate of the illustrious Tom Savini Special Make-Up Effects Program. Tom Savini is, of course, the maestro behind the effects work in the original 1980 film and Brittany will be following in his footsteps to create an authentic Friday the 13th feel – along with the Flicks For Fans team – for all Friday the 13th fans to enjoy. There will also be a Kevin Bacon “Kill Cabin” Photo Op, Camp Decor, Early Door Prizes and Giveaways and horror-themed merchandise for sale in the lobby during the event – it’s going to be two amazing nights to remember.
Tickets are $27 general admission Friday / $27 general admission Saturday and are on sale at www.studioscreenings.com (just click on Fine Arts Theatre). The Fine Arts Theater is located at 8556 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211. Doors open at 5:30pm and movie will begin at 7pm.
