Gravity Falls is a small town in Oregon that is almost entirely off the map. It’s a town where nothing unusual ever happens. As long as you don’t count gnomes, giant lake monsters, time travel, and crazy townies as unusual, and believe me when I tell you that that’s not even the half of it.
Twin siblings Dipper and Mabel Pines move to Gravity Falls for a summer stay with their Great-Uncle (Grunkle) Stan at the Gravity Falls Mystery Shack, and Dipper becomes immediately enthralled with finding the secrets that Gravity Falls holds. The two twins go on a whole summer’s worth of adventures and meet many friends and many dangers along the way.
No matter what kind of person you are, there is always going to be someone you can relate to. There’s curious and questioning Dipper, outgoing and high energy Mabel, scheming and charming Grunkle Stan, goofy and loveable Soos, laidback and carefree Wendy, and a whole town filled with other dynamic characters. The many mysteries of the town create many challenges for the main characters, but as long as they have each other, the main characters can get through everything, even if it’s the end of the universe.
GRAVITY FALLS has its own zany adventures and it’s both a show that can be watched with and without context. Everything is connected in the end, but you don’t need to stress about watching every episode to understand what’s fully going on which makes it much more enjoyable and relaxed. Friendships are built, enemies are defeated, and challenges are overcome all within a matter of two seasons and by the end of it, you’ll feel like you were staying with the Pines in Gravity Falls and building a friendship with everyone, too.
Although the summer won’t last forever, the Pines have so many life-threatening adventures that it’s hard to believe it all takes place in a span of two months. The zombie attacks, giant gnomes, time-traveling, and plenty of other situations are enough to make it feel as though the entire town is engulfed in the spooky spirit, so much so that they even have their own Halloween in the midst of summer! So if you’re looking for something to watch with characters that you’ll be able to fall in love with, wonder and whimsy that keeps you wondering what other beings might be lurking around, and good humor that you and your whole family could enjoy together, then take a bus down to the Mystery Shack in Gravity Falls, Oregon. Everyone and everything will be waiting for you.
