The team behind Etheria Film Festival 2020 has just announced that they are now open for submissions! Submissions run from now through March 1, 2020. Submit via Film Freeway here.

Etheria is the world’s most respected competition showcase of new sci-fi, fantasy, action, thriller and horror films directed by women. Their audience includes producers, managers, showrunners, distributors, and genre fans. Their festival’s goal is to highlight women directors making fantastic genre films and to connect these filmmakers to industry professionals.

This is what some of their 2019 Filmmakers had this to say about their experience:

“Etheria is the best community to be a part of! The screenings are professionally run and the people are fantastic!” – Lisa J. Dooley

“This is a 5-star festival. If you are lucky enough to be accepted, you’d be crazy not to attend. Fantastic networking and promotion. The pre-festival promotion was excellent. The screening venue was amazing and my film looked and sounded the way I intended. The event was well attended and the parties were lively and fun! Thank you Etheria for including BITTEN in your 2019 festival, I had an amazing time!” – Sarah K. Reimers

“Wonderful, supportive, special festival, top programming at the amazing Egyptian theater. I was so impressed with this festival, the organizers and the community they fostered. Will definitely come back!” – Jessica Sanders

The 2020 Etheria Film Night Hollywood Showcase will take place at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California in June of 2020. The event is hosted by American Cinematheque, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting all forms of films through screenings at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and Aero Theatre in Santa Monica.

Etheria films MUST be directed by a woman-identifying person.  If there is a co-director, they must also identify as a woman. We are no longer accepting films with male co-directors. We embrace the queer and LGBT communities. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please do not hesitate to ask the director of programming: heidi@etheriafilmnight.com.
