Southern California’s largest escape game experiences, Escape Room LA, adds another thrilling adventure this fall with Atlantis, inspired by the mythological story of the lost underwater world. Opening in late September, Atlantis offers participants a fully-immersive journey through a series of secret rooms and chambers as they uncover mysterious puzzles, challenges and artifacts.

Atlantis is the most beautiful and most elaborate game we’ve ever created,” says Escape Room LA’s Creative Director John Hennessy. “In fact it may be one of the most beautiful escape room games anywhere. Over the past months we’ve worked with a team of more than a dozen artists, craftspeople, carpenters and computer programmers in creating a simulated underwater world that’s full of mysteries and surprises” Hennessy says. “Atlantis draws its inspiration from Ancient Greek and Minoan civilizations, and is also partly pure fantasy. And we think LA is going to love it!”

At the start of Atlantis, players revive a mysterious invitation from a professor who has discovered a way to activate a portal to Atlantis. Once activating the portal, players undertake a fantastic journey in search of the powerful Poseidon Crystal. Atlantis will take players through a multi-sensory journey, in a setting created by acclaimed theatrical scenic designer Jeffrey McLaughlin, who has won numerous LA Drama Critics Circle Awards and LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards.

Located in central Downtown LA, Escape Room LA brings over 25,000 people each year to the area, offering over 70 games per week. Escape Room LA’s games are a favorite with Hollywood celebrities, including Halle Berry, Billy Crystal, Conan O’Brien, Neil Patrick Harris, Seth McFarlane,  Brendan Fraser, Colin Farrell and Emma Stone.

Escape Room LA games are held Tuesday through Friday evenings and on weekend afternoons and evenings. Weekday daytime games are also available. Tickets range from $33 to $39, depending on the date and time. Other games include The Detective, The Theatre, The Alchemist and The Pyramid. For bookings and additional information, visit or call 213-689-3229.
