Director Mike Flanagan took to the Twitterverse today to tease the release of the trailer for the much-anticipated film adaptation of DOCTOR SLEEP. In his tweet, he also revealed the first poster for the film, which blatantly tilts its hat to The Shining with its reference to REDRUM.

The only other information we receive from the tweet is that the movie is expected to drop sometime in November.

Years following the events of “The Shining”, a now-adult Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers as his and tries to protect her from a cult known as The True Knot who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.

DOCTOR SLEEP is directed by Mike Flanagan (Oculus, “Haunting of Hill House”) and stars Ewan McGregor as Danny Torrance as an adult. He’s joined in the film by co-stars Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible franchise, Men in Black International), Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek, “The Resident”), Zahn McClarnon (“Westworld”, “Longmire”), and Jacob Tremblay (The Predator, Good Boys).

The film will be distributed by Warner Bros., who has had massive success adapting Stephen King properties with its tackling of IT.
