It doesn’t have to be Halloween for the bogeyman to come out. Starting May 25th, HALLOWEEN will be available to stream on HBO NOW.
Forty years after the events of 1978’s HALLOWEEN, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) now lives in a heavily guarded home on the edge of Haddonfield, where she’s spent decades preparing for Michael’s potential return. After being locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when a bus transfer goes terribly wrong, leading to chaos in the same town he preyed on decades earlier. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the deranged killer returns for her and her family – but this time, she’s ready for him.
Judy Greer (Jurassic World, 13 Going on 30), Andi Matichak (Miles, Assimilate), Will Patton (“Falling Skies”, Remember the Titans), Virginia Gardner (“Runaways”, Tell Me How I Die), and Nick Castle (Escape from New York, Dennis the Menace) join Jamie Lee Curtis (True Lies, Freaky Friday) in this latest installment to the HALLOWEEN series.
Master of horror John Carpenter (The Thing, They Live) executive produced and served as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with producer Jason Blum (Get Out, Ma). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film, and Green also directs.
HALLOWEEN is also produced by Malek Akkad, whose Trancas International Films has produced the HALLOWEEN series since its inception, and Bill Block (Elysium, District 9). In addition to Carpenter and Curtis, Green and McBride executive produced under their Rough House Pictures banner. Ryan Freimman also served in that role.
