Dark Sky Films has announced that the film festival darling MEGA TIME SQUAD will finally be released so that we can dazzle our eyeballs with its epicness. The film will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on April 9, 2019.

A low-level criminal steals an ancient Chinese time-travel device, but he may not survive the demonic consequences of tampering with time. MEGA TIME SQUAD is a wildly entertaining time travel/sci-fi comedy out of New Zealand. A fan favorite on the festival circuit, the film stars Jonny Brugh (What We Do In The Shadows) and was praised by
Variety as “fast-paced, determinedly silly, with sharp slangy dialogue.”

The film blasted out of the gate at this year’s Fantasia and is destined to become a cult favorite. The cast consists of Jonny Brugh (“800 Words”, Waru), Morgan Albrecht (“Westside”, Deathgasm), Yoson An (Mulan, Dead Lucky), and Jaya Beach-Robertson (The Cure, The New Legends of Monkey).

MEGA TIME SQUAD is directed, written, and produced by Tim van Dammen, who is most known for his work on Romeo and Juliet: A Love Song.  Co-producing the film alongside him is Anna Duckworth (Hunt for the Wilderpeople). The score for the film was composed by Mike J. Newport (No Caller ID, I Survived a Zombie Holocaust).
