Haunt Review: The IT Experience

Last night, I had the chance to preview the new pop-up haunt, THE IT EXPERIENCE, located in the heart of Hollywood, in anticipation of Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s upcoming IT film. Situated on the corner of Hollywood and Vine, this two-story home was designed to mimic the look of the infamous Neibolt House where It lives. Guests are guided through each room by little Georgie, where they get to experience fully immersive set designs, unique props, and surprising scares.

As someone who is a haunt veteran, I can fully admit to having screamed in terror during my walk-through of THE IT EXPERIENCE. The craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into constructing and designing the Neibolt House was absolutely incredible, so much so that I felt like I was actually in the film. Not only were there scare actors sprinkled throughout the experience, but also animatronics, video and sound enhancements, and good ole’ Pennywise himself.

The haunt itself lasts about 20 minutes and groups of approximately seven people go through which allows for a more intimate experience. You will have the chance to look around and even interact with some of the things you encounter on your journey through the Neibolt House. Fans of IT will no doubt be ecstatic with some of the treasures they uncover hidden within the detail of the design. For a pop-up experience that’s free to the public, Warner Bros. went above and beyond what one would expect from an experience such as this.

As of right now, THE IT EXPERIENCE will be running from August 14 – September 10, 2017. All available slots have been filled, however you can go onto the site and sign up to be on the wait list, as you never know who may cancel at the last minute. If you aren’t able to go through the experience, I would still urge you to go check out the house, as it’s truly a sight to behold. And as always, make sure to check back on the website www.thatswhereitlives.com in case there are any announcements for the future of THE IT EXPERIENCE.
