Hi again, ghosts and ghouls! Taylor Terrible here, back with another review for you all. This one will most likely be a short one, like the film I watched to warrant it… fasten your seatbelts, folks, this is going to be a bumpy ride.

So I watched this short film last night, called FUCKING FREAK. I think it tells the story of an alien who wants to fit in, so the alien does things that “normal” people do, and because of how they look, society calls them a freak constantly. The alien loves music – they make this very apparent – it picks up music from everywhere and repeats it back to everyone, which is usually the source of the trouble, and people start to upload videos of the alien making fun of them.

It’s kind of sad when you look at it that way because it’s a great look at how our society treats people that they deem “different”, but this film did it in such a way that showcased the importance of acceptance, filled the next ten minutes with absolute trash, then included an interpretive dance that both made me laugh and made me incredibly uncomfortable because it just DID NOT fit.

I definitely feel like there was probably some deeper meaning to this that just did not show itself to me the way it was supposed to – maybe I didn’t watch it with an open mind, or maybe I’m totally right and I’m overthinking the fact that I might have watched alien porn with awful music assaulting my eardrums in the background.

I’ve really never watched something so trashy in all my life – I’ve watched some bad films but this just stood out to me as an absolute atrocity. There was an inkling of a storyline and in between, that storyline was broken up by bouts of unnecessary dick, a bunch of college kids filming a porno, and an alien getting poked and prodded by a scientist.

Again, I really, truly, deep down feel like there was something to this that I definitely did not understand, because I don’t think someone would create a film like this as a joke. If they did…I hate you for making me try to understand your filth.

So with that, I give you my review of FUCKING FREAK. An absolute train wreck that was confusing, gross, weird, I guess disturbing if you squint really hard, and totally stupid. Do yourself a favor and either watch this and get back to me on the underlying message you found, or spare yourself 15 minutes and void this, and do something more productive, like plunge a toilet.
