Movie Review: WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (2014)

SYNOPSIS OF WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS VIA ROTTEN TOMATOES:

What We Do in the Shadows chronicles the adventures of four vampire roommates trying to get by in a modern world that’s not always hospitable to the undead.  An endearingly unhip quartet of friends reveal to us or, rather, to the documentary crew that’s filming them, the details of their daily-make that nightly-routine. Ranging in age from 183 to 8,000, and in appearance from adorably youthful to Nosferatu-crusty, they squabble over household chores, struggle to keep up with the latest trends in technology and fashion, antagonize the local werewolves, cruise clubs for lovely ladies, and deal with the rigors of living on a very, very strict diet.”

MY REVIEW:

Go see this.  Now.  I shouldn’t even write a review on this because this movie is fucking perfection.  Instead of me writing out a huge blog about this movie here is a condensed list of why you should see this movie:

1. If you like Flight of the Conchords
2. If you are a fan of Jemaine Clement
3. If you like vampires (specifically vampires that don’t sparkle in the daylight)
4. If you want to know the struggles of being a vampire in modern day times
5. If you want to see what it’s like to be a werewolf that shouldn’t swear
6. If you are trying to come out to your friends and family about being a vampire and need some tips
7. If you are tired of all the stupid horror movies that are out in theaters
8. If you need want to laugh and be scared simultaneously
9. If you want to see actual amazing performances by Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi and Jonathon Brugh
10. If you want to see the most epic dance performance ever by Jonathon Brugh

Seriously, go see this movie.  It is absolutely amazing.  Its hysterical, it’s smart, it has moments of creepiness and it will leave a smile on your face.  This is one of the best horror comedies that I have ever seen and I think anyone who is a fan of horror needs to see this movie.  Okay, go, now seriously.  You will not be disappointed – and if you are, then we can’t be friends. I give this movie a 10/10 and I hope you all enjoy it!
