Scripts Gone Wild Announces POLTERGEIST

Fresh off a reading of the film TREMORS at Fantastic Fest, one of the most popular genre festivals in the world, Scripts Gone Wild returns to Los Angeles in October with a special Halloween-themed reading of the Steven Spielberg-produced horror classic, POLTERGEIST. This is Scripts Gone Wild’s first reading in L.A. since their highly successful mounting of ROAD HOUSE with Joel McHale back in August.

Headlining the reading in October is Tracie Thoms, known for her work on television in shows like COLD CASE, WONDERFALLS, and LOVE; as “Joanne Jefferson” in the Chris Columbus-directed film adaptation of RENT; and, most recently, as part of the Broadway revival of the musical, FALSETTOS. Thoms steps into the role of “Diane Freeling” played by JoBeth Williams in the film; and joining her as husband, Steven Freeling (played on screen by Craig T. Nelson), is Kevin Daniels, best known for his role as “Longinus” on MODERN FAMILY and from the series’ SIRENS and TRIAL AND ERROR.

Stepping into the iconic role of “Tangina”, the diminutive medium, is Jackie Zebrowski, a Scripts Gone Wild alum known for her extensive podcast work on show like PAGE SEVEN and SEX AND OTHER HUMAN ACTIVITIES; as “Dr. Lesh” (played in the film by Academy Award winner Beatrice Straight), Scripts Gone Wild welcomes Erin Cummings, recent co-star of FEED THE BEAST, THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB, and DETROIT 1-8-7; and as the villainous “Mr. Teague” - Brian Howe - star of THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA, and a television fixture on shows like JUSTIFIED and VICE PRINCIPALS.

Rounding out the cast are Clarke Wolfe (correspondent for Nerdist & Collider) as Carol Anne Freeling; Samuel Davis (CABIN FEVER remake) and Luke Forbes (ATLANTA) as researchers Ryan and Tak; Frank Dietz (ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE) and Jennifer Lynn Warren (AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN) as Mr. & Mrs. Tuthill; and filmmaker Jackson Stewart (BEYOND THE GATES) as Farrow. Additional casting will be announced prior to the event as schedules are confirmed.

Founded at the Chattanooga Film Festival in 2017, Scripts Gone Wild is a monthly script reading series which takes celebrities, filmmakers, and influencers, gives them a popular film script, and thrusts them head-first into a drinking game where they are penalized for line flubs and missed cues. As the readers make mistakes, and as the drinks pile up, the riotous nature of the event really starts to shine, Scripts are rarely finished - when they are - they might just be a mess. New additions to the incarnation of Scripts Gone Wild include more audience participation, and an on-stage foley artist providing a soundscape for the reading.

SCRIPTS GONE WILD - POLTERGEIST will take place Wednesday, October 10th at 8:00pm at Los Globos on Sunset (3040 Sunset Boulevard). Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and $20 for special reserved seating. More info can be found at www.scriptsgonewild.com.
