The Happenstance Horror Fest is a horror filled film festival brought to you by the people of Stained Glass and Blood Bath Productions. In its second year the festival promises to be bigger and better than the year prior.
The Happenstance Horror Fest will be held on June 13, 2017 in Haverhill, Massachusetts at the famous Chunky's Cinema and Pub. Doors open at 5:30pm on the day of the event. Guests will be welcomed into a red carpet lobby where local and national press will be there for pictures and interviews. The lobby will also include vendor tables, raffles, and silent auctions. At 6:30pm we will begin a solid 2 hour block of short horror films from around the world in a theatre that seats 200. During this time the films will be judged by our special guests. The audience will also be able to vote for their favorite films in different categories. At 8:30pm the votes and judging will be finalized as the audience enjoys a Q&A panel of different horror authors and filmmakers. Winners will be announced at the end of the evening. And because the venue is so great, they offer a full food and drink menu in which they will serve you at your seat the whole night.
Around this time last year, director George Fraser wrapped on his first film, HAPPENSTANCE. There were so many people who supported and contributed to the project that he wanted to throw a BIG premier party (something he prides himself in is throwing ridiculous awesome parties). Word started to get out and the films started coming in. They had award winning films from Luchagore Productions, Patrick Rea, Katie Bonham, Andy Stewart, and lots more. Now, here they are a year later and people have not stopped asking about what this year will bring and when it would happen, so George went full throttle for an even bigger and better film festival than last year. His goal is to help give more exposure to indie horror and to give more opportunities to people wanting to get their foot in the film industry.
This year will have special guests judges, more awards, more press, and more booze. George is planning on taking your run of the mill film festival and turning it on its fucking head. The goal is to have the crowd screaming in fear and laughing in ecstasy! In the end, it's all about having a good time and making new connections with their fellow weirdos. The Happenstance Horror Fest is more than a film festival, it is a film PARTY. Celebrating all the joy and comradery we get from the films.
