SuperMonsterCity! to Celebrate Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein"


SuperMonsterCity! (SMC!) is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's 1818 novel "Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus" by asking artists of various mediums, including traditional and digital, to create and submit artwork representing his or her interpretation of a section of the famous science fiction novel. Rude is one of five esteemed judges that will review submitted artwork to The Frankenstein Project.

A veteran in the film and television industry, Rude works as a designer, animator, and effects expert with a penchant for retro horror. Work of his has been created for over a hundred movies and TV shows, including True Blood, Ghost Whisperer, King Kong: Skull Island, Conjuring 2, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and four American Girl movies.

When not drawing monsters or appearing in costume, Rude has also lectured at Tiki Oasis, Midsummer Scream Halloween Festival, Minneapolis College of Art & Design, California Institute of the Arts, School of Communication Arts, University of Southern California, and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
