Horror, Hounds and Halloween - Dog Walk of the Dead 4 Returns to an all new haunt at Sussex County Fairgrounds

Join NJ's only Zombie Dog Walk as we raise money for
One Step Closer Animal Rescue (O.S.C.A.R.)

The undead and their dogs will invade Sussex County Fairgrounds, NJ for the fourth annual DOG WALK OF THE DEAD zombie dog walk to benefit One Step Closer Animal Rescue (OSCAR) (www.oscaranimalrescue.org).  It's basically a Halloween party where you can bring your dog!  

Participants include shuffling hoards of the undead and their dogs, as well as a variety of vendors, raffles, classic cars, Halloween pet photos, food, animal adoptions and live music from Rockabilly sensation Crash Gordon & Debra Dynamite (facebook.com/crashgordondebradynamite) and  Casey Honig acoustic rock (Instagram.com/caseyhonigmusic), WDHA (WDHAfm.com) will provide music and giveaways and the station's own Terrie Carr will judge the pet and human costume contest.  

This year New York Blood Services will also be on site for those who want to donate blood. Food will be provided by Texas Smoke BBQ of Jefferson, NJ.  

The Dog Walk of the Dead will be located at the Sussex Fairgrounds, Augusta, NJ (Richards Building) on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). 

Dog Walk of the Dead is New Jersey's only zombie dog to benefit animal rescues.  This year the event will benefit One Step Closer Animal Rescue (OSCAR) and is sponsored by ASPCA Pet Insurance, bringifdo.com, MetalDogz (www.metaldogz.com), Monarch Tattoo, New Jersey Pet Pages, and Pet Finder. 

  • Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes, along with their dogs.  Their will be human, as well as pet, costume contests
  • Participants are encouraged to donate to the shelter and/or help stuff the hears with pet products for the shelter
  • All dogs must be leashed and up-to-date on vaccinations
  • You can participate without a dog
  • All fairground rules must be obeyed 
  • The event is kid-friendly 

"We are so pleased to partner with Dog Walk of the Dead this year," said Cassie Kowalchuk of OSCAR.  "The money raised will help us with our first-ever physical shelter that we just opened. We're excited to work with people who share our mission to save animals and find them permanent homes.  I am looking forward to a successful event."
