"Foolish Mortals" Documentary Announces Associate Producer Jerry Smith

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (May 14, 2016) - Monster Movie Media and Octacle are proud to announce the addition of Jerry Smith as Associate Producer of Foolish Mortals: A Haunted Mansion Documentary.  We are excited to have Jerry Smith on board as he has been an active film journalist/critic for the past five years as well as the Editor in Chief of the long running Icons of Fright.  You may also be familiar with Jerry’s work as he has been a freelance writer for Blumhouse.com, Shock Till You Drop, Fangoria and Delirium Magazine.

“I’m eternally happy and grateful to be a part of this interesting and unique documentary.” says Jerry Smith.  “The following of The Haunted Mansion is a large one and I really think James and co. are going to shed light on by far one of the best attractions in the world and what makes it so very special to many people, myself included.”

Director James H. Carter II states “Having been familiar with Jerry’s professional accomplishments as well as seeing the passion he has for the Foolish Mortals documentary, I am thrilled to have him join the team.”

“Foolish Mortals: A Haunted Mansion Documentary” is an examination of the fan culture surrounding Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction.  Director James H Carter II will be digging into the lives, creative work and experiences of the countless masses who have reached out to share their interest in our mutual obsession, looking for the reasons they’re in love with this attraction while unearthing the ghostly materials within.

The film’s creators are veteran producers of content surrounding the Haunted Mansion.  James H. Carter II (Director and host of the Creepy Kingdom Podcast) and Ryan Grulich (Producer) bring a wealth of production value and a true affinity for the IP to the table.  Out of respect for the parks, they will not be shooting the film on Disney grounds or attempting to dig up old corpses or expose trade secrets.  They love the Haunted Mansion and want to preserve and protect its intimacy within the fan culture.  In its place they will be creating an amazing photo realistic 3D render of the mansion and will be featuring it in way never before seen!

Already scheduled to appear in the film is Disney Imagineer Terri Harden, artist Nora See, special effects creator Robert Kurtzman, artist Topher Adam, and ‘Skin Wars’ contestant Butch Bihary. Foolish Mortals has already launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to produce the film and are offering unique backer rewards including a limited edition Haunted Mansion Mystery Box as well as one of a kind sculptures from Terri Harden.  For more information on “Foolish Mortals: A Haunted Mansion documentary, please visit their Kickstarter to donate and share as well as their website http://foolishmortalsdoc.com

James H. Carter II is available for interviews (print, podcasts, and video) via phone, Skype, email, or in person in Los Angeles and Orange County California.
