Gravitas Ventures today announced it has acquired exclusive distribution rights in the United States and Canada for award-winning indie filmmaker Kathleen Behun's new paranormal thriller, 21 DAYS.
The movie is written, directed and produced by Behun.
In 21 DAYS, which has already won 14 awards on the festival and comic con circuit, three filmmakers embark on a paranormal challenge by barricading themselves inside a house so haunted no one has been able to live there for more than 21 days, in order to film the supernatural phenomena which presumably occur.
A production of Tortilla Flats Productions, the movie stars Max Hambleton (Bitchin' Camaro), Whitney Rose Pynn (Aquarius), Mickey River (Unfriended), Eduardo Roman (Jane the Virgin) and Anna Maganini (Red Line). Fernando Barreda Luna and Jessica Villegas Lattuada serve as co-producers.
Said Kathleen Behun: "I'm delighted that Gravitas, one of the premier distributors in the industry, will bring my first feature film to horror fans all over the U.S. and Canada. 21 DAYS drills deeply into the paranormal genre by testing the limits of fear within the story and the audience."
Said Dan Fisher, Senior Director of Acquisitions at Gravitas Ventures, "We are pleased to work with the very talented Kathleen Behun on this chilling horror picture."
The deal was negotiated between Galen Christy of High Octane Pictures on behalf of the filmmaker, and Dan Fisher on behalf of Gravitas Ventures. 21 DAYS is scheduled for release in the spring of 2017.
