THE NEW WOMEN GENRE DIRECTORS: HOW A NEW GROUP OF WOMEN DIRECTORS ARE MAKING THEIR MARK IN HORROR AND SCI-FI FILM AND TV

Women directors are bursting into genre TV and film like never before in history.  They're directing episodes of "The Walking Dead", "Game of Thrones", and "Dr. Who", and their feature horror, thriller, fantasy, animated, and science fiction films are breaking boundaries at the box office.  This panel, which seats a wide array of new women directors, will facilitate an awesome discussion about women's roles as directors on major genre TV and film projects, what they bring to the current genre entertainment world, and what the future holds for all women genre directors.  Some of these directors are just embarking on their directing career, while some are familiar faces from your favorite genre TV series and films who have made the transition from actress to director.  Others are indie filmmakers, and yet others even got their start in other positions on set.  We'll hear exclusive information, watch preview clips, and screen trailers from these directors' latest and upcoming projects as well as learn what makes these women such awesome innovators in genre media.
