Last week, Scripts Gone Wild announced its first string of performers for their upcoming October 30th read of Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys al El Cid on Sunset. Benefiting Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, those readers included: YouTube star Jon Cozart, Netflix star Kimmy Shields, popular actor/comedian Barak Hardley, voice actor Aaron LaPlante, and Daniel Sugimoto returning as accompanist. “We’re all about assembling the most awesome people we know,” said Scripts Gone Wild founder, Billy Ray Brewton. “We rack our brains to come up with some really unique groups. We feel like we’ve outdone ourselves.”
Joining the previously announced cast are: actor/comedian Andre Hyland, co-star of the new A24 comedy/drama, The Death of Dick Long; Gabby Bianco, one half of the popular musical duo, Smoke Season, and a solo performer known as BIIANCO; actor and SGW alum, Peter Cilella, known as “Michael” from the films Resolution and The Endless; and actress/comedian Leah Lamarr, a Los Angeles based stand-up, host of the “Falling in Love with Leah Lamarr” podcast, and co-creator of the web-series, “The Real Witches of We-Ho”. Rounding out the second wave is actor Conor Murphy, from the independent feature films Straight Up, The Longest Night, and Buckshot, and NBC’s The Good Place.
This event, along with the rest of the 2019 season, is sponsored by Mulholland Distilling, a local craft spirits brand located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles; Q Mixers, the premium spirits mixer served everywhere people love great things; Pomp & Whimsy, an exotic and delicious gin liqueur; and Stella Artois, providing the beers that keep our readers stumbling and bumbling. The venue sponsor is El Cid on Sunset, and the media sponsor, as always, is Nightmarish Conjurings.
Founded in 2016 at the Chattanooga Film Festival, Scripts Gone Wild is a monthly script reading series where a group of suspecting celebs, filmmakers, and influencers are taken – a movie script and alcohol put in their hands – and chaos ensues! It’s a drinking game – any time a reader flubs a line, misses their cue – THEY DRINK! We even let the audience get in on the action by choosing ‘trigger words’ that only increase the likelihood of the evening getting, well…’wild’. Previous readers have included: Joel McHale (Community), Perez Hilton, Tracie Thoms (Cold Case), Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show), and Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead).
SCRIPTS GONE WILD – THE LOST BOYS takes place Wednesday, October 30th at 8:00pm at El Cid on Sunset located at 4212 Sunset Blvd. Tickets are $20 for VIP SEATING and $10 for GENERAL ADMISSION, with proceeds benefiting UNICEF.
