The boat-based thriller DEAD WATER will be coming to select theaters and be available On Demand this July 26, 2019. Make sure you check out the trailer below and check out whether or not the film will be available in a theater near you below!

For those who are curious, the phenomenon of DEAD WATER is when there is still water without a current. This generally seems to happen when a layer of fresh or brackish water rests on top of denser saltwater, without the two layers mixing. Just thought that was kind of cool, even though that may have nothing to do with this film.

John (Van Dien) invites his buddy David “Coop” Cooper and his attractive wife Vivian onto his new yacht, encouraging the couple to relax and get away from it all. They embark on a sea journey on John’s yacht, The Bella which, becomes the stage for a deadly game that puts friendships and lifetime love to the test. As the ship treks farther into the open horizon, the characters become more isolated; and an unexpected mechanical malfunction leaves the yacht dead in the water, they decide to launch a mission to seek help. But is soon met by a modern-day pirate (Nelson) which becomes a fight for survival in the dead open water.

The film stars Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers, Sleepy Hollow), Brianne Davis (“Six”, Prom Night), Griff Furst (Ghost Shark, Lake Placid 3), and Judd Nelson (St. Elmo’s Fire, The Breakfast Club).

DEAD WATER is directed by Chris Helton (Runnin’ from My Roots, Stateside) and written by Jason Usry (Runnin’ from My Roots, Monkey Island). The film is produced by Mark Andrews (Distant Shadow, Redemption Road).
