This past year, Netflix has reigned supreme with their original content, but one show that has taken fans by storm has been that of Mike Flanagan’s THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, adapted from the acclaimed novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson.

Well, it looks like fans won’t have to wait long for the next season as Mike Flanagan just dropped a teaser trailer announcing that the next chapter will be coming in 2020. As with most teasers, it doesn’t give away much information, and in the tweet posted by Flanagan, he asks viewers to take a guess as to where it could be taking place.

Of course, I had to know – so I quickly listened to the 33-second recording and picked up two quotes “blood in the garden beyond it” and “all I could see of [blank]”. I have no idea what either of those two quotes could mean but decided to put them into the trusty Google machine to see if anything came up. The only thing I could see was a quote from the Bible in which Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane and dripped sweat that was blood.

Do I think the new season could be biblical? Who knows, but what I do know is that this is definitely going to cause a flurry of speculation. We would love to hear your feedback, so if you’ve listened to the recording let us know as we would love additional insight!

In the meantime, check out the teaser below and enjoy coming up with your own conspiracies on what Mike Flanagan has in store for all of us in 2020!

UPDATE: We have been informed that the new season is going to be based on the 1898 horror novella THE TURN OF THE SCREW by author Henry James.
