A few weekends ago I had the chance to attend Ghoula’s latest event, in partnership with The 3D Space, where guests had the chance to view an outdoor screening of AMITYVILLE 3D next to an actual haunted house located at Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles, CA.
Upon arrival, my guest and I had the chance to check out the infamous Hale House, a beautiful Victorian structure that seemed both welcoming and mysterious. We were given the opportunity to explore the first floor with the use of a floorplan where we could notate if we saw, heard, or felt any type of paranormal activity. As someone who loves anything related to paranormal investigation, I took this on with gusto, and though I didn’t find a lot to report on, there was one spot by a staircase near the kitchen that gave me pause.
After we finished our walk-through, we found a place to set up shop for the screening. While we waited for the rest of the groups to go through the house, we were entertained by the wonderful folks at Haunted: A Stand Up/Storytelling Show. Combining humor and true accounts of the paranormal, the troupe was energetic and passionate, making it easy for the crowd to be engaged with all their stories. Speaking of which, these tales ranged from spooky mishaps to the unexplained, which only added to the creepy atmosphere we found ourselves in.
