Invite THE BYE BYE MAN Into Your Head With This Viral & First Clip

For the upcoming STX Entertainment horror film, THE BYE BYE MAN, we have a clip that reveals ten (un)lucky people who will have the chance to invite THE BYE BYE MAN into their life...

In the film, a group of college students move into an old house and bring the furniture out of the basement, including a nightstand which Elliot (Douglas Smith) places next to his bed.  The inside drawer has "don't say it, don't think it" scrawled all over the liner paper, hiding the carved words "The Bye Bye Man" underneath.

Now YOU can invite THE BYE BYE MAN into your life with a custom built cursed nightstand and find out if you're able to survive his possession.

Get yours free locally via Craiglist in these ten markets.  Be the first to reply to the ad and reference "The Bye Bye Man" to get one delivered to you.  Inside you will find a clue to additional creepy content from the film and one lucky winner will receive a golden ticket to be flown out to LA for a screening of The Bye Bye Man with the filmmakers.

THE BYE BYE MAN is directed by Stacy Title and stars Douglas Smith, Lucien Laviscount, Cressida Bonas, Doug Jones, with Carrie-Anne Moss and Faye Dunaway.

People commit unthinkable acts every day.  Time and again, we grapple to understand what drives a person to do such terrible things.  But what if all of the questions we're asking are wrong?  What if the cause of all evil is not a matter of what... but who?

From the producers of Oculus and The Strangers comes The Bye Bye Man, a chilling horror-thriller that exposes the evil behind the most unspeakable acts committed by man.  When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don't think it, don't say it.  But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control.  Is there a way to survive his possession?

BLAIR WITCH'S Dan Myrick Returns to the Paranormal with SKYMAN IndieGoGo Campaign

Writer/Director Dan Myrick (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT) has unveiled his upcoming docu-drama, SKYMAN, which will launch an Indiegogo campaign today ( to help raise funds for production. SKYMAN will feature Carl Merryweather, a man who had an alien encounter as a 10 year old boy and now believes he has an opportunity to reconnect with the same alien at the same location on a specific day and time.

The Indiegogo campaign will focus on the pre-production of the project and the goal will be $25,000.  For donating, there will be perks available including an invitation to the weekly cast and crew "UFO Soirees" in the desert during production; Dinner with Dan Myrick and a personalized BLAIR WITCH PROJECT screening.  There will also be a limited number of original, Sundance 1999 BLAIR POSTERS given as rewards as well.  Aside from the different levels of donating available, there will also be an online auditions for particular roles and for "recreations" of what happened to Merryweather as a child at  Aspiring actors and actresses can submit their best performances for consideration when the audition process starts. Myrick was one of the first to do this back in 2008 on his film, THE OBJECTIVE

Back in 1987 on the eve of his tenth birthday, Carl allegedly came in to contact with an "alien lifeform" while camping with his father out in the high desert of Apple Valley, California. Although the following day local news reported that several locals had witnessed a strange object hovering in the sky, it was the unvarnished testimony of young Carl's direct contact that had the most impact on the local community.  Now, almost 30 years later, Carl is convinced that the Being he calls the "Skyman" is destined to reunite with him at that very same spot in the desert.  The only difference now is that he's determined to document the entire ordeal, thus claiming that he'll be the first person in history to record his own "alien abduction".

"Skyman is a sci-fi, docudrama that has been a labor of love for quite some time.  It's a project about UFO subculture that gets back to my "Blair roots', and allows me more creative freedom while, at the same time, engages the audience from start to finish," said Dan Myrick.

Myrick is also joined by Producer Joseph Restaino from Character Brigade and Thomas B. Fore and Christiopher J. Scott of Domicile Pictures.  Production is scheduled to begin in Spring 2017 with the date of the upcoming alien encounter on the horizon.

Submissions Now Open for Second Annual Brooklyn Horror Film Festival!

The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival is excited to announce that submissions are now open for the second edition of the festival.  The first deadline to submit horror features and shorts is January 15th, and the final deadline to submit for programming consideration is August 15th.

In its first year, the festival sold out the majority of its screenings, which took place in venues and theaters across North Brooklyn.  Festival Director Justin Timms commented, "The reaction we received after the first-ever Brooklyn Horror Film Festival was extremely humbling and we're very excited to announce that the festival will be growing for our sophomore year.  We've added an extra day and will be adding even more screenings throughout Brooklyn, in turn accepting even more films into our boundary-pushing program."

BHFF was proud to present the Best Feature Award to Lorcan Finnegan's WITHOUT NAME, while Jackson Stewart took home the Audience Award for the retro VHS game-inspired BEYOND THE GATES, which sees its hotly anticipated theatrical and VOD release on December 9th.

"First-year festivals are never easy to program, but we couldn't have been happier with this year's lineup and, most importantly, the audience's response," says Matt Barone, the festival's Senior Programmer.  "As exciting as that is, though, BK Horror 2016 also set the bar sky-high.  So that presents us with a new challenge: Make the second year even bigger.  We're ready to do just that and give Brooklyn another weekend-long snapshot of both where the genre's at and where it's heading.  Horror is closing out 2016 in such an amazing creative space, but there's always room for it to grow.  Hopefully 2017 brings more diversity behind the camera, more original ideas, more genuinely scary films and more of the genre-blurring audacity that defined BK Horror's program this year.  We're pumped to see what filmmakers from all around the world have to offer."

Also, as a thank you to the local horror-loving community who helped create a spectacular first edition, the festival is offering a special discount for directors and producers who live in New York City.

Stay tuned for early bird badge sales beginning this January, and check out the festival's website for more information soon.

For full submission details, deadlines, and costs please visit the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival on Freeway, or visit the official website.  The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival will run from October 12th till the 15th, 2017.

Syfy has given a 13-episode direct-to-series order to SUPERSTITION, a supernatural genre series produced by XLrator Media and Mario Van Peebles' newly launched TV production company MVPTV, which is set to begin production in early 2017 and air on Syfy later this year.

XLrator Media's Barry Gordon and MVPTV's Mario Van Peebles will produce, and Van Peebles ("Roots," "Bloodline," "Hand of God," "Empire," "Lost") will also write, direct and star in some of the episodes.  Joel Anderson Thompson ("Battlestar Galactica," "Boomtown," "House M.D.") has been tapped as showrunner and Laurence Andries ("Alias," "Six Feet Under," "Supernatural," "The Pacific") will executive produce.  The dynamic writing team of Brusta Brown and John Mitchell Todd ("Defiance," "Mech-X4") have also boarded the series.  XLrator Media holds international distribution and sales rights.

The series centers around the Mosley family, owners of the only funeral home in a fictitious town on the outskirts of New Orleans and keepers of the town's dark secrets and history.  Known for its haunted house, elevated graveyards, odd townsfolk, and rich history of unusual phenomena, the town is also a "landing patch" for the world's darkest manifestations of fear, guided into the world by an ancient, mysterious malefactor named The Dredge.

"SUPERSTITION is an intelligent, boundary-pushing genre series rich in supernatural lore and myths, featuring an eccentric family who have an unusual connection to an otherwordly plane, and the dark force that unleashes the demons, creatures and monsters that haunt our nightmares. There is a voracious global audience always seeking the next well-crafted genre series as evidenced by the success of "American Horror Story," "Stranger Things," "Supernatural," "True Blood," "Six Feet Under" and others.  SUPERSTITION is being produced and created by people who love and appreciate genre content.  XLrator is proud to partner with Syfy and Mario Van Peebles on our first network television series," said XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon.

"The incredible things we used to do in independent film, we can now do in television.  This is truly a golden era for exciting, provocative television." said Mario Van Peebles.

"A town where all superstitions, myths and legends are true offers a rich cultural, atmospheric and macabre playground for Mario Van Peebles, Barry Gordon, Joel Anderson Thompson and Laurence Andries to explore.  We are excited to work with this terrific team and look forward to bringing this unique story to Syfy." said Chris Regina, Senior Vice President, Syfy Programming.

Andries is repped by UTA, and Thompson, Brown and Todd are repped by The Cartel.

One of the fastest-growing independent film distribution companies in North America since its creation in 2010, XLrator Media, LLC ( will release 25 films in 2017. From Melvin Van Peebles directing and acting in the groundbreaking film Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song to his son Mario directing and acting in the blockbuster hit New Jack City      20 years later, the Van Peebles family has survived and thrived in a family-run business over generations much like a cinematic version of the Mosleys.

From his first break acting alongside Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge to his portrayal of Malcolm X alongside Will Smith in Michael Mann’s Ali, Mario Van Peebles has charted a unique multi-hyphenate career as an actor, writer, director and producer. His film Baadasssss! about the making of his father’s Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song was one of Ebert and Roeper’s ten best films of 2004. He directed the multicultural western Posse and directed and produced Panther (written and produced by his father) about the Black Panther Party’s rise to power, which won the Locarno Film Festival’s Silver Leopard Award.

Mario Van Peebles brings decades of film experience to television, where he has directed dozens of shows such as “Roots,” “Bloodline,” “Hand of God,” “Sons of Anarchy,” “Empire,” “Lost,” “Boss,” “Being Mary Jane,” and others. The Apocalyptic Thriller STAKE LAND II Comes to HD Digital Platforms on February 7, 2017

Stake Land set a new standard in vampire apocalypse thrillers in 2011, and now the eagerly awaited sequel arrives to push the story and its characters to the next shocking level.  STAKE LAND II, again starring Nick Damici and Connor Paolo, will be available across digital platforms on February 7, 2017.  The film will also be available on Blu-ray and DVD beginning February 14, 2017.

STAKE LAND II, a Dark Sky Films presentation of a Glass Eye Pix production in association with Berserker Entertainment and Last Pictures, is a new adventure set several years after the events in Stake Land, in which mankind must struggle to survive in the wake of a vampire apocalypse. When his home in New Eden is destroyed by a revitalized Brotherhood and its new Vamp leader, Martin finds himself alone in the badlands of America with only the distant memory of his mentor, the legendary vampire hunter Mister, to guide him.  Roaming the wilderness of a steadily decaying country, Martin searches for the one man who can help him exact revenge.

Once reunited, Mister and Martin prepare to confront the ravenous Brotherhood and its monstrous overlord.  But it'll take more than the two of them to battle this terrifying new threat, and with the future of humanity hanging in the balance, the stakes are higher than ever before.

Reuniting one of horror cinema's most memorable heroic teams, STAKE LAND II is an epic exploration of a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by blood-thirsty vamps and social collapse, where only the strongest survive.

The film brings back some of the key cast and creative team behind the post-apocalyptic hit Stake Land.  Nick Damici (Hap and Leonard) reprises his role as Mister and is also the screenwriter, while Connor Paolo (Gossip Girl, Revenge) is back as Martin, and director Jim Mickle (We Are What We Are, Cold in July) is back as executive producer.  It is the second film from directors Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, following their gripping debut, Body.  Also starring in STAKE LAND II are Laura Abramsen (Basic Human Needs), A.C. Peterson (Shooter), Bonnie Dennison (Beneath), Kristina Hughes (Green River) and Steven Williams (TV's Supernatural).

The original Stake Land received prestigious international festival play and won the Midnight Madness Audience Award at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.  It was a commercial and critical success around the world, praised as "The American horror film of the year" (Twitchfilm), "terrific" (New York magazine), "bold and memorable" (San Francisco Chronicle) and "nothing short of epic" (Dead Central).

Praise for STAKE LAND II has been equally enthusiastic since its world premiere at the 49th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (2016).  Horror Society called it "the perfect sequel, the perfect continuation of the story...the vampiric sequel we've all been dying for." Amy Seidman of Fangoria opined: "Olsen and Berk's direction is as strong as Matt Mitchell's cinematography which is beautiful and, at times, reminiscent of Robert Altman's westerns."

New Clips from the upcoming Gothic horror film THE EYES OF MY MOTHER

In anticipation for the release of THE EYES OF MY MOTHER, which opens in theaters an on VOD this Friday, December 2, Magnet Releasing has debuted two clips that will be sure to haunt your dreams.  "Country Road" features the film's ominous opening sequence and "Dance Show" features a moment of uncomfortable nightmare fuel.

Writer/director Nicolas Pesce's horror film is a haunting and unnerving gothic tale.  Shot with gorgeous black and white photography, the film's Independent Spirit Awards-nominated cinematography is on full display in these clips.

In their secluded farmhouse, a mother, formerly a surgeon in Portugal, teacher her daughter, Francisca, to understand anatomy and be unfazed by death.  One afternoon, a mysterious visitor shatters the idyll of Francisca's family life, deeply traumatizing the young girl, but also awakening unique curiosities.  Though she clings to her increasingly reticent father, Francisca's loneliness and scarred nature converge years later when her longing to connect with the world around her takes on a dark form.  Shot in crisp black and white, the haunting visual compositions evoke its protagonist's isolation and illuminate her deeply unbalanced worldview.  Genre-infected, but so strikingly unique as to defy categorization, writer/director Nicolas Pesce's feature debut allows only an elliptical presence in Francisca's world, guiding our imaginations to follow her into peculiar, secret places.
